Mission
We
are committed to investigating both the pros & cons of all the
various facets surrounding the issue of whether unincorporated Dunwoody
should incorporate as a city.
Objective
We
plan on making that information available to the Dunwoody community so
that a reasoned debate can take place among the citizens of Dunwoody.
We plan to gather the available facts, attempt to identify all of the
issues surrounding Dunwoody continuing as an unincorporated area of
DeKalb County versus becoming a City within DeKalb County.
Updates
We have incorporated as a non-profit organization, and have applied for and received 501(c)(3) tax deductibility status for any donations received.
We
have formed a Board of Directors, an Executive Committee,
Sub-Committees and Task Force groups to look at all the issues,
from all of the angles in order to help Dunwoody citizens make
qualified, quantified, and informed decisions.
We have hired the Carl Vinson Institute of Government to perform a feasibility study to answer the most important question: If
a city were to form, would it be financially able to perform at a
standard equal to or higher than what Dunwoody currently
enjoys as a part of unincorporated DeKalb County?
A
summary of the Carl Vinson study, open records act requests, and other
sources was presented November 12, 2006 in the first of numerous
public meetings and Legislative Hearings. Click here to view the latest presentation for the Dunwoody Homeowners Association 2008 annual meeting.
We
are continuing our research and community outreach efforts in
order to assure that Dunwoody Citizens are informed of
the facts.
